Year 11 Parents’ Revision Evening

Over 100 parents attended the Year 11 Parents’ revision evening to find out how they can better support their children as they approach their GCSE exams

On 26th January all students in Year 11 used the Flexible Learning Day to further improve their revision skills.

To perform effectively in their forthcoming GCSEs, highly developed revisions skills will be essential. During the Flexible Learning Day the students attended a series of workshops where they learned:

  • what the latest research tells us about effective revision
  • how to timetable a revision programme
  • how to look after themselves and keep “exam fit” during this stressful time

The work covered used information from the Learning Scientists. Their website is well worth a read if you are interested in this area.

In the evening over 100 parents attended sessions covering similar areas. The aim being to ensure that parents are well informed about how they can encourage and support their children in the run up to and during the exam period.

The feedback from the parents who attended was extremely positive. Below you will find copies of the presentations used.
