On Tuesday 30th April a number of Y10 students took part in a Taster Day at Oxford University. The day started at Merton College where students received a brief introduction that aimed to dispel some of the most common myths about Oxford. Next there was a tour of a number of the colleges by a current student and lunch in the refectory at Hertford College.
Students were given the opportunity to ask questions about university life, the famous Oxford tutorial system and the interview process. They also took part in an academic session to find out what lectures at university might be like.
A part from getting stuck in Oxford’s rush hour traffic the trip was a tremendous success!
