Key Stage 3 Leader

Key Stage Leader for KS3 and KS4 (2 positions)

We are seeking to appoint two well-qualified, talented and inspiring teachers with a passion for pastoral leadership to these newly created roles in the school. The successful candidates will provide the pastoral leadership of either Key Stage 3 or Key Stage 4. They will also join the school’s extended leadership team and play a pivotal role in helping the school in the next stage of its development.

The Key Stage Leaders for KS3 and KS4 will take a lead role in the delivery of our values and in shaping the school’s culture and will play a major role as a member of the extended leadership team in the further development of the school.  Key responsibilities will include:

  • Strategic leadership of Key Stage 3 / 4 including improvement planning / self-evaluation
  • Supporting and challenging students to ensure that the school’s expectations regarding behaviour, attendance, uniform and learning are clearly established and met
  • Leading a team of non-teaching year team leaders
  • Taking a lead with parental engagement  

The posts will include working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to enhance the learning, behaviour, progress and well-being of our students. There will be a requirement to work closely with parents.

Severn Vale School is an Academy which provides an inclusive secondary education for students that delivers strong student outcomes through high quality teaching.  The school is proud of its inclusive credentials and, in an area that has retained selection, subscribe instinctively to the comprehensive ideal. We are a popular and over-subscribed 11-16 academy that has recently completed an exciting build project to enable an increase in pupil admission numbers from 235 to 265 on entry, which will increase the school size from 1175 to 1325 over five years.
