This week engineers from Dowty came to school to take 16 KS3 students through the initial stages of the Flying Start Challenge 2024.
On Tuesday 27 February, six of our Year 9 students (Grace A, Grace A, George H, Armarni F, Josh W and Charley M) took part in the FameLab Academy school final.
On Friday 9th February, 37 Year 11 students and 4 members of staff travelled to Paris with PGL to experience the sights and culture of France’s capital city as part of their GCSE French course.
On Tuesday, students in Year 7 had the opportunity to take part in a poetry workshop with professional poet Giovanni "Spoz" Esposito.
Year 10 GCSE Music students attended a workshop presented by the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra.
The University of Gloucestershire visits SVS to host a Business Breakfast for some year 10 students.

Last week the Music Department took a group of 32 Year 8 and 9 students on a trip to London.
This term, students from Year 10 headed down to London for the day to visit Westminster and have a tour of both the House of Commons and the House of Lords.
