Year 8 & 9 Girls Visit to Renishaw

Renishaw hosted a visit from girls in Years 8 and 9 showcasing careers in Engineering

On Tuesday 10th December, 29 girls from Year 9 and 10 visited Renishaw in South Gloucestershire to find out more about careers in Engineering and Science. Given the low percentage of women entering this field nationally, this visit gave the girls an opportunity to find out if there was a place for them in the future. The girls were given a tour of Renishaw’s innovation centre, where they saw working models of the equipment that Renishaw have developed and use daily. They enjoyed seeing Renishaw’s Gromit statue from the Gromit trail around Bristol and had an opportunity to get hands on, making their own LED torches.

It was a fantastic day and great opportunity for the girls.
