Contingency day 2026

The official GCSE contingency day for the 2026 summer exam series is Wednesday, 24 June 2026.

This date is set nationally by exam boards and regulators (such as JCQ and Ofqual) in the event of major disruption to the exam timetable.

• The Rule: All students must remain available to sit exams up to and including this date.
• Travel: It is highly advised not to book any holidays, trips, or events before this date, as cancelled exams can be rescheduled here.
• Exceptions: It is not used to reschedule minor absences or personal illness, only national or significant local disruptions (e.g., severe weather)

GCSE Results Day 2026

GCSE results day 2026 takes place on Thursday, 20 August 2026. Students can collect their results slips in person starting at 9:00 am
