Alan Gibbons visits Severn Vale
Acclaimed children’s author Alan Gibbons visited Severn Vale School
Acclaimed children’s author Alan Gibbons recently visited Severn Vale School to provide our students with his knowledge and enthusiasm for literature and creative writing. Alan is an author recognised for his inspiring novels, most recently “Hate” inspired by the tragic murder of Sophie Lancaster which has been nominated for the Carnegie prize.
We were fortunate enough to offer a selection of students from each year group a one hour workshop, during which they could take advantage of Alan’s expertise on a topic related to the year group’s current curriculum focus. These included: newspaper reports, adventure and ghost stories and a poetry workshop.
