Exam Results - 2022

The class of 2022 delivered an amazing set of results as GCSE exams returned

Students at Severn Vale School are celebrating record-breaking results as GCSE exams returned following a two-year break due to the pandemic. In a year when schools were told to expect falls from the levels seen when GCSE results were based on centre assessed grades, the class of 2022 have bucked the national trend and delivered results above those seen in 2020 and 2021.

55% of the students achieved the benchmark of at least a grade 5 in English and Maths with 73% achieving grade at least a grade 4 in English and Maths. Over 1 in 5 of the grades awarded were grades 7 and above with students achieving grade 9s across the majority of subjects taken.

There were a range of outstanding student achievements including:

  • Jack Osborne – 3 x 9s; 5 x 8 and 1 x 6
  • Amelia Neate – 3x 9s; 3 x 8s; 2 x 7s and 1 x 6
  • Amelia Massey - 3 x 9s; 2 x 8s; 3 x 7s and 1 x 6
  • Imogen Williams – 4 x 9s; 1 x 8; 2 x 7s and 2 x 6s
  • Keira Penrith - 2 x 9s; 2 x 8s and 5 x 7s
  • Phoebe Ford – 1 x 9; 5 x 8; 2 x 7s and 1 x 5
  • Archie Hall - 5 x 8s; 3 x 7s and 1 x 6

Headteacher Richard Johnson said: “Results day is always one of the best days in the school year when we get to celebrate the amazing achievements of our students. This year group have had to deal with a huge range of challenges over the past 3 years. The superb results they have achieved are a testament to their hard work and dedication combined with the fabulous teaching and support they have received from the unbelievably talented staff we have at Severn Vale. The class of 2022 been a wonderful year group to work with throughout the last 5 years and it is brilliant to see that they have received the results their efforts merit.”

The class of 2022 will now move on to a variety of Sixth Forms, Colleges and Apprenticeships. Given the great foundation they have achieved at Severn Vale we know they will go on to make their mark in the world. We wish them the very best.

Our focus as a school now turns to ensuring that next year’s results are even better!
