Information For Post-16 Providers

Severn Vale School is committed to ensuring that all pupils are given the opportunity to find out about technical education qualification and apprenticeships opportunities. This is part of a comprehensive careers programme which provides information on the full range of education and training options open to them. Post-16 providers are actively encouraged to take part in Post-16 information events (see the table below). Our arrangements for managing the access of providers to pupils at Severn Vale School complies with our legal obligations under Section 42B of the Education Act 1997.

Future Fridays Year 11 Zoom presentations from colleges, sixth forms, training providers, employers and advisory bodies about relevant courses, experience and pathways to gain success.  All Year
Breakfast Drop In All Years Short talks or drop ins at breakfast time, to inspire students and widen knowledge about general career areas, specific roles, training or courses.  All Year
Parents Evening Year 11 Stands to allow students to seek advice and information from colleges, sixth forms, training providers, employers and advisory bodies about relevant courses, experience and pathways to gain success.  December 2021
Taster Day Year 11 One day 'taster' visit by students to seek advice and information from colleges, sixth forms about relevant courses, experience and pathways to gain success.  November 2021
