We are very much looking forward to welcoming our new students to Severn Vale School during the summer term of 2021. To confirm some key dates.
Primary school visits - 14th June - 25th June 2021
We will be visiting all of the Year 6 students joining us in September throughout Term 6. Primary school visits will take place during the fortnight beginning 14th June. Specific dates for your child's school will be confirmed in the coming weeks. I will attend the visits with Fiona Hayward, Head of Year 7 and Olivia Lowry, Pastoral Mentor for Year 6/7 Transition.
During these visits we will meet with the students, give them an opportunity to ask questions and launch the 'Be Awesome, Go Big' transition project. The 'Be Awesome, Go Big' project was set up last year to support students with transition to secondary school during Covid restrictions, it provides lots of valuable insights and reflections for students making the transition.
Further details regarding the project will be included in future correspondence and all resources required will be available through our school website.
Transition day - Thursday 8th July 2021
We will be offering one transition day this year. This will be a full day with students coming to Severn Vale and completing a full day of lessons. Students will be placed in tutor groups during the day and should wear their current primary school uniforms.
The day will run from 8:45am - 2.50pm.
Parents/Carers Welcome Evenings Wednesday 7th and Thursday 8th July 2021
We will be running four Welcome evenings over two days in July. We will invite parents/Carers to a specific session. Data collection booklets will be given to your child during Primary school visits. Please can you complete these and bring them with you when you attend the welcome evening.

Students will receive a printed copy during the primary school visits in June, but it's here on the website for you as well!
