Salary:   Grade G, point 8-20:  £24702 - £30296 FTE (£22283 - £27330  pro rata)

  • 41 weeks per year (term time, inset and two weeks during school holidays), 37 hours per week. Part time requests will be considered.
  • Permanent contract

We are seeking to recruit a Pastoral Mentor to improve the attendance of identified students. Working with the Attendance Improvement Manager and the Heads of Year, you will be able to implement strategies to achieve and maintain good levels of school attendance for students who are persistently absent.  You will be able to assess problems and provide solutions by working closely with students and their families, often in their own home, and improve the links between the school and the home.  Excellent communication and time management skills are essential. Mentoring experience is preferable.  You will need to be proactive, confident and have a resilient attitude. As the position requires visits to students’ homes, you will also need a full clean driving licence.
