Over the two years students study the following 5 themes:
- Living together in the UK
- Democracy at work in the UK
- How the law works
- Power and influence
- Taking citizenship action
The course is made up of two examined units, both taken at the end of the course.. The exam papers make up 100% of the final mark. The exams focus on assessing students’ knowledge and understanding of the themes covered along with their understanding of how to conduct ‘active citizenship’ campaigns.
This course is aimed at students who are interested in the world around them – the decisions that are made and the people who make them. An opinion on current affairs is a must!
